BOOK MOUSE PRESENTS:
WINE, CHEESE AND MYSTERY
On
the 3rd Wednesday (usually) of the month a different mystery writer(s) will give a talk at the Book Mouse. The
event starts at 6:30 p.m. The Cheese Shop and Herman’s
Liquors are co-sponsors of this series.
July 16 –
David J. Walker
Saving Paulo by David J Walker is now
available. Here’s the skinny from the author: Three people: young man going nowhere, a young woman
with everything, and an elderly fortune teller are drawn together in a struggle to save a strange, silent little boy from
murderous kidnappers.
About the Author: David lives with his wife Ellen, just
north of Chicago. He’s been a parish priest, an investigator for the Chicago Police Department, and a lawyer.
August 20 – Victoria Houston
Dead Madonna is the
latest in the best-selling Loon Lake mystery series. When the body of a lovely young woman is found floating beneath
a party pontoon on a popular lake in northern Wisconsin on the same morning
that a prominent widow is found bludgeoned in her gracious home. A charming resort town on the surface, life in Loon Lake turns murky as bank officials soon discover that both
victims’ accounts have been looted – along with a dozen others. One grisly development after another further links
the two murders even though the victims did not know each other. Wealthy Chicagoans, visiting entrepreneurs and the young
denizens of “Party Cove” complicate the scene. Whoever thought life in the North woods could be this dangerous?
September 17 – Alex Matthews
With her remarkably savvy
style, Matthews once again creates a world of murder and mystery devoted fans of Cassidy McCabe will find impossible to put
down. Murder's Madness is very highly recommended.
Alex says: “I want Cass to come across as a typical woman, a person who
reminds you of yourself or your female friends. When you read my books, I want you to be inside Cassidy's skin, to know
what she's thinking and feeling and why she does what she does. I hope that Starshine, the calico cat, will steal
your heart and make you laugh."
